Mayawati inaugurates Gautam Buddha University (24 Aug 08)

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati inaugurated the first session for the School of Management at Gautam Buddha University at Greater Noida.

During its initial sessions, the University will have a School of Management which will run courses in human resources, strategic management, marketing and retail management.

In the coming sessions, the University plans to have schools in information and communication technology, school of humanities and Buddhist studies, school of bio technology, and a school of law. The Cost of setup of Gautam Buddha University is being funded jointly by the Noida and Greater Noida Development Authority.

Ansal API Launches Megapolis in Greater Noida (17 July 08)

Greater Noida is going to witness another big change in its infrastructure with announcement by Ansal API to develop an integrated township.

This development will be spread over 2,500 acres around Dadri district of Greater Noida in the NCR and the total cost of the project will be around Rs.13,000 crore. Ansal API Megapolis project lies within the Delhi NCR and will be well connected via NH-91 and Greater Noida Expressway

Work in progress for Yamuna Expressway (10th July 08)

Yamuna Expressway formerly Taj Expressway work has made good progress, this highway will connect Greater Noida to Agra in Uttar Pradesh. Process of land acquisition for the project by Jaiprakash Associates is now complete.

The new expressway will cut down travel time between Delhi and Agra by at least one hour. Also the decision to build a new international airport at Jevar will add to its value for international travelers.

Jaiprakash Associates is keen that the Yamuna Expressway should be ready much before the coming Commonwealth Games in 2010.

All the three major expressways under development - Ganga Expressway, Yamuna Expressway and Hindon Expressway – are based on important rivers of UP and all three Expressways will converge at Greater Noida.

Greater NOIDA to get bird sanctuary (9th july 08)

To boost eco tourism, the UP state forest department has identified a 330-hectare area in the Greater Noida area to develop it into a bird habitat, with many water bodies and roosting trees that will be home to different bird species.

The sanctuary would be built in the Surajpur area on the outskirts of the city, at a cost of Rs 56.4 million. The forest department is expected to complete the project by 2010.

Many rare and migratory birds such as the Little Egret, Night Heron, Indian Reef Heron, Painted Stork, Open bill Stork, White necked Stork, Black necked Stork, Comb Duck, Coot, Common Teal and Yellow Wagtail are expected to congregate at the sanctuary.

The sanctuary is expected to attract tourists from the National capital region, besides Uttar Pradesh and other states.

Formula One work in full swing (17th Sept 07)

THE STAGE is set for the Grand Prix 2010. Greater Noida has been finalised as the circuit location for Grand Prix 2010. There is no denying the fact that Formula One is being taken very seriously in India. Finally India will have its own Formula One circuit when the Grand Prix 2010 is held in Greater Noida.

The investment for the event is massive. Setting of track, hotels, six-lane highways are all in the pipeline.

The event would help attract a lot of overseas investments. The tourist industry would also do good business. The thick attendance would be of foreigners, who take great interest in this sport.

Formula One is the world’s most expensive sport and also generates huge money. Indian Grand Prix would create many direct and indirect jobs.
